Secondary School Transition

Children from Church Cowley transition (have some taster days) to secondary school in the June and July at the end of their time in year 6, usually for 2-3 days.
We work very closely with all secondary settings to ensure that your child has an opportunity to get to know their new school, their teachers and their new class mates.
Sometimes we recommend that your child has additional day to transition, this may be because they are nervous or anxious, worried or have additional needs.

We liaise with, and meet all headteachers, head's of year 7 and SENCO's in all secondary schools to ensure they have as much information as possible about your child.

Most secondary schools will also visit the children in the year you apply to talk about the school, let the children ask questions and find out more about what a typical day might look like.
